Why should we study theorists?
Developmental psychology is significantly driven by theories. As humans, we naturally try to analyze and categorize others' feelings, actions, and dispositions. Developmental theorists do the same thing, but they follow the scientific process to develop and test specific hypotheses. In the end, they derive scrutable scientific understandings that can be adapted to understand a broad array of human behaviors.
